Beach Trading CompanyThe remarkable FistulaFinder® was invented and introduced by Dr. David L. Cull, a nationally recognized vascular surgeon. Concerned with the high percentage of surgical interventions required for patients undergoing dialysis, he set to work trying to find practical solutions to improve present day vascular technology. He received national recognition for one of his vascular innovations by being a finalist in the 2006 History Channel’s Invent Now® Challenge. Dr Cull was chosen from 4,300 submissions and was featured on the show “Modern Marvels”.
The FistulaFinder is a simple device engineered to locate and stabilize arteriovenous fistulas for cannulation. The device is placed near the fistula on the patient’s arm or leg. The technician or home patient then depresses the contact plate which causes a compression ridge to act like a tourniquet. This provides localized pressure at the cannulation site controlled by hand. The resulting increase in pressure then causes the fistula to appear between the two stabilizer prongs. These prongs or “feet” not only help stabilize the fistula, but prevent it from rolling during cannulation. Once the fistula is located and stabilized, cannulation is made significantly easier by using the position guides, which provide a visual aim point for needle entry. This design adds a VISUAL dimension to what has been a purely TACTILE skill.
At CreatiVasc Medical, we believe the FistulaFinder is a revolutionary device that will help to improve the quality of life for those suffering from renal disease.
CreatiVasc Medical LLCThe HemaStrap, by Hema Assistance Products, is a lightweight fabric strap that is comfortable, easy to use, and does not interfere with dialysis or infusion treatment. It is designed to secure and stabilize dialysis/infusion tubing during patient treatment to minimize tugging and painful infiltration.
Our patented strap comes in three (3) different sizes: adult large and small, and youth for pediatrics. The adult sizes (Hemastrap HA 600-077 or HP 540-077) can be adjusted quickly and easily by marking the hook area of the strap with a soft lead pencil or marker and trimming with scissors, leaving at least 3/4 of an inch of hooking. For most patients, adjustment of the youth Hemastrap (HY 540-077) will not be necessary.
The Hemastrap is designed to be worn around the patient’s wrist by inserting the hook strap through the black D-ring. Secure the strap by folding the hook fasteners, located at the end of the strap, against the felt. Loosen the infusion retainer straps on the dorsal surface of the wrist. After the infusion is started, secure the tubing under the retaining straps.

JMS North America Corp.Medical Dignity Clothing has been created to offer comfort, modesty, and convenience to anyone who is going through dialysis, chemotherapy, or other infusion treatments.
The Medical Dignity Garment is a classic, white, button-down shirt with flaps and break-away sleeves designed to open directly over the areas that a port or central line would commonly be placed. Since most infusion treatments are administered in a common room with very little to no privacy, it eliminates the concern of the patient being exposed during treatment.
The Medical Dignity Garment is available in sizes for men, women, and children, and can be ordered online or over the phone.
Medical Dignity Clothing CorporationThe Redsense safety device is designed to detect venous needle dislodgement during hemodialysis, for Home/Self and Clinical use.
Redsense consists of two parts: a sensor patch and an alarm unit. An infrared signal is transmitted from the alarm unit to the sensor patch using fibre optic cable. In the event of bleeding, inner layers of the patch smear blood over the optical sensor, which triggers the alarm.
The Redsense safety device is the results of close co-operation between medical staff and engineers. Dialysis equipment today is required to have a system which protects the patient from blood loss due to dislodgement of the venous needle. The commonly accepted solution is to monitor by the venous pressure alarm but a better solution has long been requested. Even with the routine supervision of medical staff still the venous needle can become dislodged: the dialysis machine will then continue to draw blood from the patient’s artery however not returning blood in the loop circuit as the venous needle has become dislodged and the patient’s blood ends up elsewhere. If undetected, this blood loss can have very serious consequences in only a few minutes. Redsense safety device provides a solution to this problem and detects venous needle dislodgement instantaneously; it only takes a few milliliters of blood on the sensor patch to sound the alarm.
Optimizing safety conditions for home hemodialysis users is a core ambition for Redsense Medical.
Redsense Medical has offices in Sweden and in the U.S. (Chicago, IL). For more information: www.redsensemedical.com.
