AAKP

Welcome to AAKP’s Center for Patient Engagement and Advocacy

The American Association of Kidney Patients is the oldest non-profit organization in the renal community that is run by patients and is for patients. We exist to provide education to patients and their care partners, helping them achieve their best outcomes possible.

AAKP is able to keep the patient voice and interests in the forefront, making our organization highly regarded by the renal community at large – including health care professionals; patients and family members; industry (pharma/providers) and public policy makers.

How Do We Do That? We Communicate!

AAKP created the Center for Patient Engagement and Advocacy, which helps to engage, train, and deploy kidney patients in ways that are the most effective at elevating the patient voice. This includes critical times when national legislation, health program implementation, regulations or potential delays in the pharmaceutical approval process pose a concern to patient access to quality care or their future healthcare outcomes.
