The use of excessively high blood flow rates during dialysis-flow rates of upwards of 350 ml/minute-appears to be a US-only phenomenon.

On one side of the stethoscope you have a rushed, overworked, provider trying very hard to get through to the next appointment, and on the other, a human being quite possibly having one of the worst days of their lives. There is an instant disconnect.
