Update on H.R. 8875 “Improving Home Dialysis Act of 2026.”
This bill would expand Medicare payment for temporary staff-assisted renal respite care and mental health services for eligible home dialysis patients. Carol Miller (R-WV) introduced this bill in May 2026, which passed the Ways and Means Committee 28-13 that month. Robert J. Wittman (R-VA) became a co-sponsor on 6/23/2026. So far, he is the only one. The more co-sponsors for a bill, the more urgent and popular it appears, which can improve its chance of becoming law.
