- ISHD — The International Society for Hemodialysis (ISHD) was formed in 1999 by a group of world-renowned nephrologists who believed that the science and clinical practice of hemodialysis was being overlooked by the other major societies and journals in favor of molecular biology and other basic science-focused research endeavors. Their vision was to develop a society and journal focused primarily on the practice of clinical hemodialysis.

- ANZDATA — Australia and New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Registry. ANZDATA collects a wide range of statistics that relate to treatment outcomes of those with end-state renal failure.
- ERA-EDTA — European Renal Association-European Dialysis and Transplant Association Registry. The ERA-EDTA Registry collects data on renal replacement therapy via the national and regional renal registries in Europe, and analyzes the data and distributes the resulting information through registry reports presented at the yearly ERA-EDTA Congresses, publications in nephrology journals, and their website.
