Fresenius CEO Rice Powell on Lessons Learned From Covid 19
In a Washington Post story, Powell notes that Fresenius has been planning since January for the pandemic, and has been offering staff child- and eldercare stipends and supplemental pay. The company offers isolation capacity for COVID-19 positive patients and has set up a National Intensive Renal Care Reserve to meet hospital needs for acute dialysis. Telemedicine and home dialysis options have expanded, and—Powell asserts—“Home dialysis is the best form of care for reducing infection risk and protecting vulnerable patients.”
