Home HD—Away From Home
Patients who don’t own their own homes may lack access to home HD. Community house home HD for them has pluses, finds a New Zealand study of 25 patients. Each had a designated machine, and some rooms had several machines so they could socialize during treatment. The researchers identified four themes: less burden, more flexibility, greater control, and peer support.
