Global, Regional, and Country Incidence of Peritoneal Dialysis-Associated Peritonitis in the Contemporary Peritoneal Dialysis Practice: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

This study of 132,000 PD patients from 37 countries found a statistically significant difference in peritonitis rates across countries and regions with the highest rate in South Africa and the lowest rate in South Korea. The researchers recommend sharing knowledge and innovations for continuous quality improvement and standardizing and harmonizing care to reduce inequities and improve patient well-being.
