CMS Published Final Rule for the 2024 ESRD PPS and QIP

The ESRD PPS base payment in 2024 will be $271.02. Clinics must report “time on the machine” per treatment, with an exception for clinics that close for disasters to claim the low volume payment adjustment. In the 2024/payment year 2026: the QIP depression screening and follow-up reporting measure becomes a clinical measure and CMS is removing measures for UFR and fistula rates. To address health equity, in payment year 2027 (calendar year 2025), CMS will add a measure for Social Drivers of Health and one for Screen Positive Rate for Social Drivers of Health.
