What We Know: Costs of prescribed formulary drugs for those with Medicare Part D is capped at $2000. Clinics must provide phosphate binders to Medicare patients under the ESRD bundle and will be paid for them under the transitional drug add-on payment adjustment (TDAPA) for 2 years.
What We Don’t Know: Will doctors prescribe and clinics provide patients with the binders that work best for them? Will the Administration’s promise to cut federal agency staff and regulations impact patients and clinics? Will changes in immigration rules and visas affect foreign nephrologists, dialysis staff and patients?
