Expanding Care in the Home Act (H.R. 2853 ) Needs More
Support in Congress
Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE) sponsored this
bill (section 4), but only Reps. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), Terri Sewell
(D-AL), and Chris Pappas (D- NH) are co-sponsors. There is no companion
bill in the Senate. If passed and signed into law, Medicare
would pay for staff-assisted dialysis for a temporary period
for a patient who is blind, cognitively or neurologically impaired, or
has mobility limitations. Ask your Senators
to write a companion bill and your Congressperson
to sign on as a sponsor!
