Bill Would Expand Medigap Access for Dialysis Patients if Passed
H.R. 35, the Close the Medigap Act of 2023 was introduced in the House by Lloyd Doggett (D-TX-37) on January 9, 2023, and will die if not passed before this Congressional session ends. The bill would: (1) Expand guaranteed issue rights for Medigap, so any eligible applicant could get a policy, (2) Eliminate some limits on Medigap policies for newly eligible Medicare beneficiaries, and (3) Modify other provisions.
