Thirty-five teams of non-profit DCI Project Purpose volunteers did free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings across the US for 2,100 people, and educated almost 4,000 people about chronic kidney disease. Oh, and they raised $14,000 for dialysis community programs, too. The chef from one local high school is so excited about the partnership with DCI that he wants to plan meals for special populations, with the help of a renal dietitian.
