Cool Dialysate Does Not Show Increased Benefits
A 4-year study of 15,413 patients compared those receiving standard
in-center HD with dialysate cooled to a median of 35.8o C
(.5o -.9o C below pre-dialysis temp.) vs. a median
of 36.4o C. No significant reductions were found in
cardiovascular death, hospitalizations, or blood pressure.
(Editor’s note: what does reduce organ
stunning and protect the heart? SLOW, GENTLE dialysis—which is more
often doable in the home.) Read the abstract. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(22)01805-0/fulltext

Featured Link: Donate Unused PD Fluid and Supplies to
Cameroon!
When Linda Lucas Nana, a retired nurse practitioner, travelled to
Cameroon to explore her ancestry, she found a desperate need for
dialysis. Her Gainesville, FL non-profit organization picks up unused PD
fluid and supplies within about a 6-hour drive of Gainesville and ships
it to the African nation. Reach out to: Lucas Nana Action Health
