Study finds 5-year home HD survival nearly twice that of PD
Home HD led to a far better chance of living 5 years (85%) than PD (44%) among people who started dialysis in Australia and New Zealand, finds a new study. 10,700 people who began PD were compared with 706 who started home HD. NOTE: In Australia and New Zealand, home HD is not done as short daily treatments, as noted in Dr. Agar’s recent blog post.
