CMS Puts Money Where the Policy Is in Proposed Rule to Boost Home Dialysis and Transplant
On Thursday, July 1, 2021, CMS released the 2022 Proposed Rule encouraging dialysis providers to decrease disparities in home dialysis and transplant rates—and reward providers who succeed. The new rule would raise all dialysis payment by 1.2% over 2021, and address disparities in the ETC model, with extra improvement points for significantly improving home dialysis and transplant among low-income patients and dual-eligibles who receive both Medicare and Medicaid.
