In Memorium: Dialysis Pioneer Zbylut J.
Twardowski
Dr Twardowski, who died on January 20, had 23 patents for such
discoveries as the HD capillary dialyzer, daily home dialysis dialyzer
and lines, and PD catheters. He developed Buttonhole cannulation and the
Presternal PD catheter. Dr. Twardowski wrote almost 400 scientific
papers, gave more than 500 presentations, and was a patient-centered
advocate for home therapies. Read about his life and contribution to
