Home Dialysis Programs at The Rogosin Institute

The Rogosin Institute’s Home Dialysis Program consists of Home Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis and offers patients the opportunity to conveniently perform dialysis therapy in the comfort of their homes.  Today’s technology, easier to use equipment and Rogosin’s innovative remote monitoring capability encourage patients to choose home hemodialysis.

Our team consists of highly skilled doctors, nurses, technicians, dieticians and social workers that are specialized in home therapy. We train patients and their families in peritoneal and home hemodialysis, manage the logistical coordination such as timely delivery of supplies to their home, and help them transition to home when they are ready.

Home hemodialysis is a growing treatment option in which you and a trained partner can perform your hemodialysis in your own home. Nocturnal home hemodialysis is a treatment option also available for Rogosin patients who choose to dialyze at night instead of dialyzing during the day, Rogosin was one of the first dialysis centers to offer home nocturnal dialysis. Patients receive their treatment over a time period for about eight hours while they sleep and are monitored closely by Rogosin staff. Rogosin is the only area dialysis center that also provides remote monitoring through the Internet for our home nocturnal hemodialysis patients making this dialysis option also available to patients without a partner. The additional time on dialysis allows for better fluid removal and patients who have chosen nocturnal dialysis report that they feel healthier.

Rogosin ‘s Peritoneal Dialysis Program is one of the largest in New York City and currently provides care to more than 70 patients. We offer continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) as well as automated peritoneal dialysis (APD).

Training is given to the patient as well as the patient's care partner if he or she has someone who will be helping with the PD treatments. A trained PD nurse is available by phone to answer questions and help troubleshoot minor problems that may arise.

Peritoneal Dialysis Training is available in Manhattan East and West Dialysis Centers, Queens Dialysis Center in Woodside and in Brooklyn.

Home Hemodialysis Training is available in Manhattan East West Side Dialysis Centers and in the Auburndale Dialysis Center in Queens.
