  • Hope, Quality of Life, and Psychoscial Distress in PD

    Are people on PD hopeful? A study from China surveyed 134 people on PD, assessing their level of hope. Working patients with higher income using APD had higher hope scores, and hope correlated significantly with both age and social support. Higher hope scores were linked with better mental well-being and less severe depression.

  • Hope Matters in PD

    Among 134 patients receiving PD in Hong Kong, those who were working, had a higher income, and were using a cycler for PD had higher hope scores, and there were correlations with age and social support. Higher hope scores were linked with better mental well-being and less severe depression.

  • COVID Anxiety Less of a Problem for Home Dialyzors

    A single center survey of 98 home HD and 43 PD patients in Toronto found high rates of satisfaction with dialysis, little depression or anxiety or fears of caregiver burden, and few signs of burden. There was “no indication of a negative psychosocial impact from the pandemic, despite the increased social isolation,” reported the authors.
